PC: Hawaiian Airlines.

Hawaiian Airlines has announced that it is seeking qualified candidates to fill more than 400 positions ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer season.

Hawaiian saw a rebound in demand in the first quarter and rebuilt its network and workforce to meet growing interest in travel to its home country. The need for team members in Maui is particularly acute, and Hawaiian is offering a $ 2,000 signing bonus to attract experienced applicants for most jobs on Valley Island.

“We aspire to be the employer of choice,” said Robin Kobayashi, senior vice president of human resources at Hawaiian Airlines. “We offer rewarding career opportunities as well as generous travel privileges. As businesses recover from the pandemic, the need for skilled workers is increasing. It is imperative that we remain competitive and we hope that our signing bonus for positions in Maui will generate a lot of interest. “

The Hawaii hometown airline currently employs around 6,850 people, more than 90 percent of whom are state-based. Most of the new positions are in airport operations and include customer service agents, ramp agents, operations managers and aircraft mechanics in Honolulu, Maui, Hilo, Kona, LÄ«hu’e and some cities on the west coast of the United States; the majority are part-time positions. Full-time employment opportunities at the company’s head office in Honolulu are in the areas of IT, marketing, human resources, and sales.

Although Hawaiian has recalled nearly all of the employees on leave, it is hiring to fill vacancies and to fill vacancies that support new routes. The company recently launched non-stop services between Honolulu and Orlando, Austin and Ontario, California, and added flights from Maui to Long Beach and Phoenix.
