Fotis Dulos friend’s phone seized at Newark airport during federal investigation
Court documents show Fotis Dulos’ friend’s cellphone was seized at Newark airport during a federal Department of Homeland Security investigation related to the disappearance of New Canaan’s mother, Jennifer Dulos.
Jennifer disappeared in 2019 when she was last seen taking her children to school.
Her ex-husband Fotis Dulos and girlfriend Michelle Troconis were almost immediately named suspects in Jenniefer’s disappearance, and Fotis was eventually charged with her murder.
Troconis was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, tampering with evidence and obstructing a prosecution.
Fotis took his own life in 2020, just weeks after being charged with the murder of his estranged wife.
During Troconis’ final preliminary hearing last week, his lawyer told the judge that prosecutors had given him investigative documents indicating that law enforcement suspected that Fotis Dulos’ friend, Andreas Toutziaridis, l helped create an alibi for his wife’s disappearance.
Court documents detail that federal investigators wanted to search Toutziaridis’ cellphone and that the cellphone was seized by officers at Newark Airport in New Jersey a month after Jennifer disappeared in 2019.
Court documents reveal Toutziaridis flew from Greece to stay with Fotis at his home in Farmington when he was arrested by authorities who seized his phone.
