‘Daniel Ricciardo should do better now’ – F1 Twitter blasts McLaren driver for having his worst F1 season since 2013
Daniel Ricciardo failed to score points in four consecutive races, something that hadn’t happened since 2013.
It’s safe to say that Ricciardo’s move to McLaren didn’t quite go to plan. He joined the team last season in a move people saw as the start of something big.
With Lando Norris, fans expected Ricciardo to get up to speed fairly quickly in Surrey. That hasn’t been the case, and Norris has consistently outperformed him thus far. Ricciardo’s only good result with McLaren came in the form of a victory at the 2021 Italian GP.
Apart from his glorious afternoon at Monza, his performances have been disappointing and recently rumors have surfaced about the team hierarchy wanting to replace him. Ricciardo has just 11 points after seven rounds in 2022. It is the worst points tally after seven rounds for a McLaren driver since Stoffel Vandoorne in 2018.
Ricciardo’s fans fear he will be replaced in the team. The 32-year-old hasn’t scored a single point in the last four races, which is his worst pointless streak since 2013 (when he was with Toro Rosso).

Ricciardo fans don’t want him replaced at McLaren. McLaren are unlikely to consider extending his contract unless he performs miraculously well in the rest of the season.
Imola – error
Miami – not fast enough
Spain – not fast enough
Monaco – not fast enough

However, a large part of F1 fans believe he had enough chances. They took to social media to share their thoughts on why Ricciardo’s stay at McLaren shouldn’t be extended.
Daniel Ricciardo He is a very nice person (not for me) politically very personal, but as a pilot he is overrated !!

The F1 grid is set to undergo a shake-up next season. Sergio Perez has extended his contract with Red Bull which points to the departure of Pierre Gasly from AlphaTauri. Some rumors have linked Gasly with the McLaren HQ, and given the Frenchman’s consistency, Zak Brown would definitely want him in the squad.
