Counterfeit items, drugs seized at Louisville airport
Officers found 60 million lethal doses of the drug, which would be enough to kill 60 times the total population of Louisville.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Customs and border protection officers who work at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport have been busy inspecting and seizing a variety of illegal and unauthorized packages from various parts of the world.
Officials said that during the week of May 15-22, they seized more than $ 1 million worth of illegal drugs.
Among the drugs found was 2.5 pounds of Carfentanyl. They said the amount contained 60 million lethal doses, enough to kill 60 times the total population of Louisville.
Counterfeit items were also seized, including fake driver’s licenses, designer watches and around $ 722,750 of fake Apple Airpods.
CBP also said 1,300 pounds of duck tongues were contained in a shipment from Asia. Duck tongues were destroyed by steam sterilization due to possible Newcastle disease and bird flu.
