Airport manager Jake Briley shared good news about the growth in the number of business jets visiting the airport during the airport’s regular advisory committee meeting on Thursday afternoon.

For the month of June, Conway Municipal Airport at Cantrell Field saw growth in the number of business jets flying into Conway.

“We’re getting more early and late calls for field stops from out-of-state guests,” Briley said. “It’s good.”

Briley said one of his goals as airport manager was to increase the number of business guests at the airport.

“I will continue to call business leaders in the United States to explain what our great airport has to offer,” he said.

Briley said he expects that number to continue to grow as the airport enters the busy fall season.

The Airport Advisory Committee was established by Conway City Council to provide advice and guidance to the Mayor, Airport Manager and City Council on airport management, operations, facilities, equipment, planning and other areas necessary for the efficient operation of the airport.

The committee is made up of seven members, five of whom are currently licensed pilots. At least four committee members must be licensed pilots. Members serve staggered four-year terms. The committee meets at 3:00 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month at City Hall.

The current committee includes:

William “Bill” Adkisson, President. Addison is a licensed pilot whose term ends December 31, 2024.

Steve Magie, a licensed pilot whose term ends on December 31, 2022.

Brett Carroll, non-pilot, whose term ends December 31, 2024.

Jeff Standridge, non-pilot, whose term ends December 31, 2025.

Fletcher Smith, licensed pilot whose term ends December 31, 2022.

Robbie Willis, licensed pilot whose term ends December 31, 2023.

Don Greenlan, licensed pilot whose term ends December 31, 2025.
