Bristol Airport unveils Jet2 flights
Bristol Airport has announced that it will work alongside vacation package provider Jet2 as business begins to ramp up with new vacation destinations added to the government’s green travel list.
The inaugural Jet2 flight took off from Bristol Airport on Monday – taking passengers to Mallorca and giving them red carpet entry at the airport.
Mallorca, along with Menorca, Ibiza and Madiera, has recently been added to the list of green trips – this means travelers who go there won’t have to isolate themselves upon arrival.
The airport operations manager revealed that the news is also positive for those on English soil, as it has created more than 200 jobs in the area.
Graeme Gamble said, “We know from our research with our customers that there is a pent-up demand for air travel in the region.
“This is a big step forward for Bristol Airport as it is recovering from the impact of the pandemic with the airline’s base in Bristol initially creating 200 job opportunities and this number increasing as as the base grows, providing significant investment and an increase in the choice of destinations and vacations available to customers in the region.
