$ 20.7 million goes to airports statewide to improve safety and strengthen innovation, development and sustainability.
The aim is to make the communities economically comparable to other states.
New York State Transportation Commissioner Marie-Thérèse Dominguez works to strengthen transportation infrastructure to contribute to safety, the community economy and the creation and maintenance of jobs within Of the industry.
$ 3.1 million will go to Grand Binghamton Airport, Lt. Warren E. Airport in Chenango County, Corning-Painted Post Airport and Elmira Corning Regional Airport .
Grand Binghamton Airport in Broome County will use $ 1.5 million for energy efficient lighting and replacement of the revenue control system.
Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport in Chenango County will use $ 200,000 for jet hangars upgrades and high efficiency heating as well as LED lighting.
Corning-Painted Post Airport in Steuben County will receive $ 100,000 for service equipment that helps maintain operations in inclement weather.
Elmira Corning Regional Airport in Chemung County will use $ 1.3 million to rebuild an existing building into a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility.
